Drums thunder and the villagers rejoice — except eleven-year-old Karpagam, chosen to wed on Goddess Parvati’s behalf to save her people from sickness and despair. While the village celebrates the divine wedding, Karpagam is filled with doubt. When her groom Shiva finally appears, he is far less radiant and far slipperier than expected.
