A Perfect Family is the intimate portrait of the Chatelains, a middle-class family in North Dakota, and the Itos, an interracial family split between Tokyo and Ohio, as seen through the eyes of two grown children, Lucas and Hannah. The film presents the effort to sustain the traditional family unit, the subsequent erosion and a final attempt at redemption for both families.
